Prevent disease even I am a smoker
Lung cancer is mainly caused by cigarette smoking. Nicotine addiction could lead to lung cancer curcuma longa T+ and lung cancer due to the presence of carcinogens in cigarette smoke. Cur cumin (CLT+) has been studied for its chemo-preventive benefits that induce apoptosis in various types of cancer cells. It has anti-tumor and anti-inflammatory properties.
Epidemiological studies link lower rates of colon, breast prostate and lung cancer to regular use of turmeric. In laboratory studies, it was found that curcumin prevents activation of the regulatory molecule NF-kappaB that gives orders to genes to manufacture inflammatory molecules that promote cancer cell growth. These inflammatory molecules include COX-2, TNF and IL-6. Turmeric was also found to promote cancer cell cycle arrest, inhibit cancer cell proliferation and help with cell suicide – apoptosis. In phase I clinical trials on lung cancer cells conducted at University of Texas, curcumin is being studied for its therapeutic and chemopreventive benefits for various types of cancers including lung cancer.
